ATI discontinuing their old control panel
ATI has discontinued their old control panel in favor of the new Catalyst Control Center (CCC). Most people won't notice a difference and will probably not care at all.
However, the new CCC requires .NET framework and a lot of people can't stand it. (Probably because of low performance in the earlier versions) The good news is that you can still use updated drivers without having to install the CCC. It's possible to download only the Display Driver package from ATI and use different a control panel like ATI Tray Tools.
